Job Summary/Basic Function:

Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Instrumentation Faculty member. Start date is August 16, 2021.

 

This position reports to the Division Chair of Physical Sciences & Process Technologies and:

  • Teaches Instrumentation classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods;
  • Provides curriculum review, assessment development and analysis, formulates objective measurable rubrics and assessment items;
  • Prepares labs and curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.;
  • Assists in the advisement and mentoring of students;
  • Serves on various assigned college committee assignments; and
  • Supports the college's student success initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications: The minimum qualifications for this position are:

 

    An Associate’s Degree in Instrumentation from a regionally accredited college or university; Minimum of (3) three years of non-teaching wage earning experience in instrumentation or I&E; Demonstrated ability in working with culturally diverse populations; Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods; Excellent written and oral communication skills; Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met; and Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in Instrumentation or Engineering preferred
  • Teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred
  • Bilingual language skills preferred
