Tarleton State University, the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Strategic Studies invites applications for one tenured Associate Professor position to begin September 1, 2021 located at Fort Worth campus.

Responsibilities:

Candidates are responsible for the teaching/learning process and will also participate in the necessary operations of the institution.

Teaching responsibilities include a 2/2 load in the course of the 9-month contract. Primary teaching responsibilities involve teaching at CJ PhD program.

Research specialization is open.

Education and Experience:

A Ph.D. in Criminology, Criminal Justice, or closely-related discipline.

Earned doctorate/terminal degree approved by the University and recognized by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges with appropriate academic credentials verified by Tarleton’s faculty credentialing processes.

Six years of successful college teaching experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Faculty in the rank of associate professor shall have demonstrated academic and professional achievement. Those appointed to the rank of associate professor will demonstrate teaching excellence, scholarly/creative attainment, and professional achievement both within and outside the university.

Other Requirements:

Preference will be given to candidates with a distinguished record of scholarship and doctoral directive experience. The preferred area of specialization is policing and statistics.
