Description:

The Department of Biology and Environmental Science at the University of New Haven invites applications for a tenure-track Environmental Science position beginning August 2021.

 

The Department seeks to hire a teacher-scholar with a background in the ecology of coastal systems. We invite applications from candidates with experience in multidisciplinary approaches to research in areas including, but not limited to: ecological responses / adaptations to climate change in coastal environments, the resilience of complex adaptive systems, and the conservation of natural and built ecosystems in relation to environmental change. We are particularly interested in candidates who study processes at multiple spatial and temporal scales and use quantitative approaches to answer basic questions in ecology.

Qualifications:

Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in a field relevant to environmental or marine science and are expected to build a record of excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful applicant will teach in the Department’s MS and BS Environmental Science Programs, and potentially in its Marine Biology and Marine Affairs undergraduate programs, and establish a vigorous program of high quality, independently funded research that involves both graduate and undergraduate students. The Department also has undergraduate programs in Biology, Genetics and Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and a graduate M.S. program in Cell and Molecular Biology.
