Job Description Summary:
The University of La Verne is seeking a full-time principal faculty member for the Physician Assistant program. Tenure-track opportunity is available for candidates with doctorate degrees.


Specific Duties:
Principal faculty deliver the academic and pre-clinical part of the curriculum, teach in areas of expertise, and participate in admission activities. Principal faculty members also help develop and teach courses in both academic and clinical years of the program and participate in all aspects of the program and program assessment. Student advising and committee work is required, as well as maintaining a record of scholarship and professional activities to assure program and university visibility. Principal faculty members report to the Director of the PA Program. Leadership opportunity exists for candidates with requisite skills and experience.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree or greater from an accredited university
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Current unrestricted PAB license to practice in the state of California
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States
  • Excellent oral, written and computer skills
  • Ability to travel
  • Ability to network and interact professionally with students, faculty, staff and clinical partners and preceptors
  • Knowledge of current ARC-PA standards
  • Knowledge of curriculum and course development
  • Commitment to community service and diversity


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 2 years of full time clinical experience
  • Experience in Physician Assistant Education
  • Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant Program
  • Research
  • Doctorate degree or pursuing a doctorate degree
