Job announcement for musicology: Two Vacancies

Responsibility will include:

  • To work in the Centre as a research faculty member
  • To teach the relevant western musicology or Ethnomusicology courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
  • To reinforce, and expand school’s curriculum
  • To supervise stundents in thesis writing.
  • To representthe schoolin faculty meetings and act as jury during auditions, competitions, and student recruitment
  • Additional teaching responsibility may be assigned according to the candidate’s strengths and the Academic needs.

Qualifications:

In order to present an excellent learning experience and to offer students a thorough music education in a real-world context, the successful candidates must be an outstanding scholar with the prominence in the field, and is expected to lead and develop undergraduate and graduate curriculum in western musicology or Ethnomusicology. Excellent demonstration in teaching is expected. Earned PhD degree in musicology or Ethnomusicology is required.

Job announcement for Composition:Two Vacancies

Responsibility will include:

  • To Compose original musical work at the need of the centre and mainly focus on choir, chamber music, symphony and opera.
  • To work in the Centre as a composer as well as a research faculty member
  • Synthesizes ideas for melody of musical scores for choral group and rearrange the existing ones at the need of the centre.
  • To represent the school in faculty meetings and act as jury during auditions, competitions, and student recruitment

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience, qualifications and abilities, including:

  • Doctoral degree in Composing or Music Theory (or equivalent doctorate).
  • Portfolio/Work Sample – a PDF file of compositions or articles

Responsibility will include:

To work in the Centre as a research faculty member or performing artist

  • To teach relevant choral courses at the college undergraduate and graduate levels
  • To conduct and oversee choirs/ensembles in the school
  • To supervise choral program ;
  • To develop inspiring new courses and improve the existing ones according to your expertise
  • To represent the school in faculty meetings and act as jury during auditions, competitions, and student recruitment
  • Additional teaching responsibilities may be assigned according to the candidate’s strengths and the Academic needs.

 Qualifications:

The successful candidates are required to have significant experience in choral conducting at the level of higher education and with broad knowledge of choral repertoire. DMA degree in relevant area is needed. Prize of choir competition of the international level is preffered.

Job announcement for Assistant

One Vacancy

Responsibility will include:

  • Serves as an initial contact for the center
  • Handles the logistic of the center; locating rehearsal spaces and scheduling of the classes
  • Prepares and produces reports of review, forms, and documents according the policies of the school
  • Takes in charge of scheduling and preparations for concerts and/or special events.
  • Processes purchase orders and remittance vouchers, maintains office supplies, and deals with miscellaneous financial recordings.
  • Assigns and supervises the works of students.
  • Serves as an liaison to other departments in the university, and community.
  • Assists with the oversight of the budget and financial information, such as maintaining balances, evaluating discrepancies, and preparing reports and recommendations.
  • Assists in the coordination with publicity of activities and events of the center, including the design of programs, newsletters, and invitations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
