Assistant Professor - Computer Science

Department of Computer Science: Assistant Professor, Bowling Green State University. Tenure-track faculty position available August 2021.

Responsibilities: The successful candidate will develop a productive research program supported by external funding, teach effectively at the undergraduate and graduate levels, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the department, university, and profession.

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. or equivalent in computer science or a closely related discipline (e.g., Data Science, Information Science, Engineering). ABD will be considered as long as the requirements for the degree are completed by August 2021; Research experience in a data science related area, including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, data mining, data quality, and data analysis; Demonstrated record of teaching effectiveness; Demonstrated record of research productivity, with at least one or more peer reviewed journal/conference publications that have been accepted

Preferred Qualifications: Established background in data science as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, reports, and/or scientific presentations; Teaching experience at the college level (course instructor, teaching assistant, guest lecturer, teaching practicum), particularly in the areas of data science; Established background in software engineering as evidenced by peer-reviewed publications, reports, and/or scientific presentations; Ability to teach courses in software engineering, such as Software Architecture, Software Testing, Software Engineering, etc.
