Responsibilities:

The University of Akron, Department of Chemistry seeks applicants for the non-tenure track position of Visiting Assistant Professor of instruction.  The position will begin Fall Semester of 2021 and the appointment is for one academic year (9 months).  The Visiting Assistant Professor of Instruction is expected to teach at the undergraduate level; enrich students' academic experience; and participate in departmental and college activities. 

 

Required Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related discipline.  It is expected that the candidate will provide outstanding teaching and support the pedagogical mission of the Department of Chemistry.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in or demonstrated ability to teach multiple chemistry subdisciplines beyond biochemistry, such as: general chemistry; inorganic chemistry; physical chemistry; and organic chemistry.
