Buena Vista University seeks applicants for a tenure track, assistant professor position in biology to join an ambitious faculty in a dynamic program. Preference will be given to the areas of entomology or invertebrate biology to complement existing strengths within the School of Science Biomedical and Agricultural Science programs. Field research experience is a plus, particularly with undergraduate research projects. Duties begin in August 2021, and include teaching: a team-taught introductory biology course, zoology, evolution, and related topics within sequence for majors; upper-level courses in these areas, and other areas of special interest and expertise; and introductory courses for non-majors in the candidate’s general area of expertise. Buena Vista University is a teaching institution. Excellence in teaching and student advising are paramount; professional engagement and development, and service to the institution are also valued requirements. Our very strong biology program is delivered in a modern and well-equipped facility. A postdoctoral experience is preferred. Ph.D. by August 2021 and required for tenure consideration.
