Position Summary:

This position involves coordinating clinical research trials within the UW Department of Medicine, Division of Cardiovascular Medicine. The primary responsibilities involve nursing care for research participants and management of clinical research protocols. The types of studies include, but are not limited to, NIH or Industry sponsored clinical research involving drugs, devices, biologic agents and imaging. This position will report to the CVM Clinical Research Supervisor and work closely with the principal investigators, other research coordinators and clinic staff.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

Bachelor's Degree/Bachelor's of Science in Nursing preferred minimum.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

3 years nursing experience required. Preferred experience as clinical research coordinator and/or cardiovascular nursing experience.

Prefix assignment determined by years of relevant work experience. A minimum of 7 years' experience is required for appointment at the senior level.

License or Certificate:

RN (licensed registered nurse) required.

Additional Information:

Attention to detail, time management and excellent organization will be critical to the success of this position.

TB testing and a Caregiver Background Check will be required at the time of employment. Annual Flu shot required

The incumbent is expected to follow the policies, procedures, guidelines for excellence and professionalism established by the University of Wisconsin, SMPH, and DOM. Additionally, this position will adhere to all Federal, State, and University regulations, policies and training requirements for clinical research.

Travel to offsite locations will be required to perform study-related visits and procedures. A valid driver license and personal vehicle accessibility or eligibility for fleet vehicle usage is required.

This position has been identified as a position of trust with access to vulnerable populations. The selected candidate will be required to pass an initial Caregiver Check to be eligible for employment under the Wisconsin Caregiver Law and then every four years.
