Position Summary
The Armbruster laboratory at the University at Buffalo is seeking a postdoctoral fellow for an NIH -funded research project pertaining to polymicrobial catheter-associated urinary tract infection ( CAUTI ). The position entails use of a mouse model of CAUTI to investigate the impact of polymicrobial interactions on infection progression and severity, including assessment of the innate immune response to infection and the role of biofilm formation.

Minimum Qualifications
Ph.D. degree in Microbiology, Biochemistry, Cell Biology or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
• PhD in microbiology or related field.
• Experience with aseptic techniques for bacterial culture, including fastidious organisms.
• Experience generating mutant strains of bacteria.
• Experience with laboratory techniques for studying bacterial biofilms.
• Experience with animal models of bacterial pathogenesis.

co-culture on biofilm viability and biomass.
- Utilize various microscopy techniques to study biofilm
composition.
- Develop assays for determining the impact of bacterial
co-culture on stimulation of the innate immune response.
- Maintain laboratory notebook and experimental records.
