About the Opportunity:
The Sr. Business Systems Analyst leads requirements analysis, validation and verification, ensuring that requirement statements are complete, consistent, concise, comprehensible, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable. Works on a variety of Salesforce projects and initiatives encompassing all enterprise applications. To swiftly develop a clear understanding of relevant application functionality and functional area operational and business processes, policies and compliance requirements. Act as liaison between functional users and development staff, translating functional requirements into technical specifications. Facilitate business process review and application prototyping sessions as well as providing business process analysis and insight into best practice methodologies. Provide direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts. Also develop with functional area end user training and associated documentation. Use effective and tactful communication skills to balance client needs and expectations with available resources and competing projects. Also serve as the cross module coordinator to facilitate the resolution of cross module issues. To ensure that essential services are provided to the University community, the employee will be required to work outside their regular working hours as needed.

Responsibilities:
Functional Customer Service and Relationships

- Provide leadership to functional work groups enabling them to focus on tasks required to meet developed scope of work within the timeline projected within budget.

- Respond to user concerns on immediate, production-related technical issues.

- Ensure that an appropriate response to those concerns and requests are put into action and communicate progress back to the user.

- Provide consultative services for implementation, and customizations.

- Facilitate issue resolution between cross modules.

Specifications Development

- Lead the development of designing specifications for conversions, reporting, interface and customizations.

- Provide direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts for utilization during upgrades and patch application.

- Review user's business process; assess needs and research technical solutions for those needs.

- Collaborate with systems and development staff and lead the development of technical specifications that are meaningful to both client and technical developer.

- Evaluate and adjust where appropriate, setup tables relative to the functional area business practice.

- Serve as data consultant for modular setup tables.

Standards Development

- Provide direction in developing testing methodology and test scripts for utilization during upgrades and patch application.

- Develop business process and change management documentation.

- Analyze and support the recommendation and/or documentation of opportunities to improve business processes through application and security configuration and enhancements, security, and associated software.

- Research and recommend IT solutions to effectively capture and automate key business processes.

- Develop end user training strategy and documentation.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have the following: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree and 6-8 years' experience working as a Functional, Data, or Business Analyst. Two years of experience should be in a higher educational environment, and Two years working with Salesforce. The candidate has the ability to think analytically, solve problems to complex business processes, and document results. Strong written and verbal communication skills are a necessity. Must have the ability to interact with customers in a sensitive and diplomatic manner, maintaining positive relationships and building consensus on project goals. Excellent analytic skills and the judgment to make effective decisions on courses of action needed to transform defined business needs into software requirements.

A strong working knowledge of Salesforce.com at the level Salesforce ADM 201 certification is a must. The candidate needs a thorough understanding of the Salesforce object model, an advanced understanding of software design and development using agile methodologies, along with a proven track record for the ability to deliver product.

Knowledge of relational database reporting tools such as Tableau, Oracle Reports or MS Access. Fluent with planning tools such as Jira, MS-Project, Visio, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Experience with any or all of the following highly desirable: A working knowledge of the Salesforce Education Data Architecture (EDA), Ellucian Banner, college admissions, CRM, financial reporting, PL/SQL, portal, accounting, human resources systems.
