The Coastal Carolina University Spadoni College of Education and Social Sciences invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor in the newly forming department of Human Services to begin in the fall of 2021. We are seeking a highly qualified individual to spearhead the curriculum development at both the undergraduate and graduate levels in the areas of human services and counseling. Primary teaching responsibilities will include the development and instruction of human services courses.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Human Services, or a Ph.D. in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Counselling, or related field by the time of their appointment. The candidate should also have evidence of excellent teaching and scholarly productivity, community/public engagement and a strong record of program/curriculum development. Candidates area of expertise is open but may include youth or school counseling, rehabilitation counseling, career counseling, mental health services, clinical mental health, human growth and development and/or CACREP accreditation standards.

The University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate and selective master’s degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in educational leadership, and Ph.D. degrees in Marine Science and Education.
