Position Summary:
In the role of Athletic Facilities Maintenance Manager this
individual will:
Provide leadership in maintenance and cleaning of the Bloechl Center and surrounding outdoor athletic fields.
Assist the Building and Grounds Dept. occasionally with maintenance of other spaces on campus.
Supervise student workers in maintenance and cleaning of the Bloechl Center and upkeep of surrounding outdoor athletic fields.
Assist the Buildings and Grounds team in the rental event operations in outdoor athletics spaces.
Report to the Director of Athletics with a matrix reporting relationship to the Director of Buildings and Grounds.
The Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Facilities Maintenance
Supervisor of Mount Mary University's NCAA Division III Basketball
program is an integral member of the Athletic Department and
Buildings and Grounds Department at Mount Mary University. This
position requires an enthusiastic, pro-active, high-energy
individual who is determined to see that the basketball program's
roster goals are met. Additionally, the position is responsible for
the Bloechl Center and all surrounding outdoor athletic fields are
maintained at a high standard; and is responsible for meeting the
rental event operation needs in the Bloechl Center and surrounding
outdoor athletic fields. This individual must be committed to
upholding the standards and expectations of Buildings and Grounds
as well as the NCAA Division III values to "Discover, Develop, and
Dedicate", in addition to the MMU Athletic Department pillars to
"Recruit, Retain, and Develop".
The Head Basketball Coach and Athletic Facilities Maintenance Supervisor works primarily with the coaches, graduate assistants, student-athletes, buildings and grounds crew, faculty and other administrative offices to ensure that each Mount Mary University student-athlete and prospective student-athlete receives a quality experience, and all the athletics facilities are kept in pristine condition. This opportunity requires the availability to work a variable schedule. Hours will be determined by mutual agreement with the Director of Athletics and the Director of Buildings and Grounds to best accommodate the needs of the basketball program, athletics department, and all athletic facility's needs. Pre/post season hours are likely to be slightly more consistent than in-season hours.

Primary Responsibilities:
Head Basketball Coach
Recruitment coordinate recruiting efforts to meet agreed upon benchmarks to ensure the basketball program is playing and practicing at or above the ideal number of student-athletes. Provide monthly recruiting updates to the Director of Athletics and attend all recruiting meetings with the admission department.
Work with recruiting coordinator and graduate assistant for basketball to increase team roster size.
Prepare and conduct all practice and game plans
Prepare travel arrangements for team-away games
Responsible for putting a practice and competition schedule together that meets NCAA Division III requirements and minimize the amount of class time missed for competitions
Follow budget guidelines set forth by the Director of Athletics
Attend staff and/or institution meetings /events when required
Knowledge of, and adherence to, MMU Athletics Department Coaches Handbook, NCAA Division III and Conference rules / regulations regarding recruiting, eligibility, competition, compliance, etc.
Assist as needed with management of home athletics events
Responsible for team management, academic monitoring, fundraising, and team building event planning
Promote and encourage a positive learning experience for student-athletes and a commitment to develop the whole person and nurturing bold, brilliant women
Hire, train, supervise and evaluate assistant coaching staff including 1 Graduate Assistant
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned by the Director of Athletics and/or Assistant Director of Athletics
Athletic Facilities Maintenance Supervisor
Oversee the maintenance of the Bloechl Center, a 25,000 square foot on-campus athletic/recreational facility that includes a full-size gymnasium, training room, locker rooms, concessions, and fitness/aerobic center along with and surrounding outdoor athletic fields
Assist in the hiring, training, scheduling, supervision and
evaluation of student workers
Schedule and manage student workers with a range of daily
janitorial services, including but not limited to cleaning, trash
removal, floor care services, and surrounding outdoor athletic
fields maintenance when weather permits
Work closely with the Assistant Director of Athletics regarding
rentals in the Bloechl Center and surrounding outdoor athletic
fields to meet the needs for the rental groups
Schedule and manage student workers for rentals in athletics
spaces, including set-up/take down for rental events in the Bloechl
Center and surrounding outdoor athletic fields to ensure the
property has been properly set-up/left clean and in good repair
after events conclude
Respond to service calls and emails for the Bloechl Center and
surrounding outdoor athletic fields
Identify and report the need for major repairs in the Bloechl Center and surrounding outdoor athletic fields to the Director of Buildings and Grounds
As directed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds - Serve as front line representative of the University by greeting clients, make setup adjustments as necessary, and supervise events as necessary. Ensure that the property has been left clean and in good repair after events conclude
Setup up facilities for events and meetings around campus as directed by the Director of Buildings and Grounds
Assist in campus rental event operations and marketing of facilities as needed
Meet periodically with Facilities and Events Coordinator to review objectives regarding needs for rentals in athletics spaces
Provide exceptional customer service and courtesy to campus visitors, students and other employees
Perform other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned including emergency tasks as needed
Skills and Experience:
Coaching experience 2-5 years required. Head Coaching experience preferred
Collegiate-level coaching experience preferred, at the NCAA Division III level desired
Experience within a collegiate athletic environment required
Collegiate varsity playing experience preferred
Strong organizational, leadership, communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, ability to work independently, and possess a high level of confidentiality
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups, facilitate group process, and foster collaborative decision making
Exceptional ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and extraordinary attention to detail
Computer skills are required, along with the expectation to learn additional computer software programs for Buildings and Grounds as well as Athletics; such as EMS Software, other maintenance digital tools, Front Rush, Hudl, FastDraw, scouting / film breakdown software, and a variety of recruiting sites.
Ability to move tables, chairs, equipment and furniture.
Customer service experience with positive interactions
Ability to work independently and under minimal supervision
Strong problem-solving skills
Knowledge of applicable safety codes
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree required
Applicant must pass background check and motor vehicle records authorization
To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to accomplish primary duties adequately
The individual will become familiar with Buildings and Grounds digital tools along with athletic department program's recruiting software and identify, evaluate, contact, and build relationships with prospective student-athletes. This will be accomplished through attending high school games, attending showcase events, reaching out to HS and Travel coaches, reviewing game / skills footage, and other activities as determined by the Head Coach and/or Director of Athletics.
Candidates need to feel confident talking on a phone and creating coherent, professional correspondences (emails, letters, text messages, etc.)

Salary/Position Grade $32,000 - $35,000. This position is eligible
for benefits.
