The Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, time-limited, Visiting Assistant Professor in German Language and Culture, beginning August 16, 2021. The successful candidate should be able to: (a) teach six (6) undergraduate language classes during the academic year, (b) collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth articulation across the levels of language instruction, (c) diversify the German language curriculum, and (d) develop research agenda in area of specialization. Salary is competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.

Ph.D. degree in German language and culture or other relevant area; ability to teach beginning and intermediate level German language classes; native or near-native proficiency in German language and English; at least one year of experience teaching German language at a US college/university.

Although not required, we are particularly interested in candidates with interest in designing, teaching, and developing advanced German language-culture classes F2F and online that contribute to diversifying the language curriculum.
