Job Summary

Provides technology support for students, faculty, and staff on a part time basis. Assists users with technology resources, including hardware, software, network connections, technology accounts, and University systems. Responsible for audiovisual issue resolution in classrooms and in public areas during meetings and special events.

Work Hours: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday: 6:00pm – 10:00pm

Salary Grade O02 Essential Functions

1. Serves as a level one to a level two technology support representative for OIS .
2. Manages the Service Desk during evening and weekend hours, including email, telephone, and ticketing system responsibilities.
3. Assists with access and usage of all University systems.
4. Provides information and support for students, faculty, and staff with technology account activation, usage, troubleshooting.
5. Remediates computer lab and classroom technology and audiovisual equipment issues.
6. Remediates technical and audiovisual issues at campus events.
7. May supervise and assign tasks to student employees.
8. Escalates issues related to technology account access and system errors and outages to appropriate department leadership by phone in a prompt and detailed manner.
9. Assists commuter and residential students with network connectivity issues in all campus buildings, including residence halls, and provides limited support for personally owned devices.
10. Completes small projects and provides other general technology assistance as assigned.

Other Duties and Responsibilities

1. Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associate’s degree or equivalent college level coursework.
2. Experience providing customer service in a professional setting.
3. Knowledge of Microsoft and Apple operating systems, hardware, and software.
4. Ability to troubleshoot issues independently or as part of a team.
5. Ability to multitask and provide quality assistance in urgent situations.

Preferred Qualifications

1. Technology related experience in higher education.
2. Experience maintaining classroom and audiovisual technology.
3. Experience supporting technology system access and usage.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object.
