Assistant Professor of Software/CS

Oregon Tech is seeking applications for an Assistant Professor of Software/CS in the Computer Systems Engineering Technology Department. This is a 9-month, full-time position located on the Oregon Tech campus in Wilsonville, Oregon. The successful applicant is expected to have a strong background in C++ with additional experience in data structures, database design and development, and agile project management. This individual would also be expected to teach courses in some of the following additional areas: operating system internals, network programming, graphical user interfaces/user experience, design patterns, or programming languages. We are not expecting one individual with all of these skillsets but these are the areas where we could use some additional help. While the primary job duties are teaching and advising, professional development and institutional service are also expected. Professional development may include but is not limited to the publication of scholarly works, applied research especially with students, collaboration with industrial partners, grant writing, or consulting activities. Institutional service may include on-campus committee membership and participation in departmental initiatives. Required:  PhD in related field and desire to teach and interact with students at all levels. Preferred: Experience teaching in higher education and significant industry experience.
