The Edwards College of Humanities and Fine Arts at Coastal Carolina University, located in Conway, South Carolina, invites applications for the full-time, tenure track position of Assistant Professor of Italian in the Department of Languages and Intercultural Studies.

The successful candidate will teach Italian at all levels for Languages and Intercultural Studies majors and minors and for the general student population, teach courses on Italian culture and civilization in English, work collaboratively with all faculty in a multi-language department to promote a culture that values foreign language learning, maintain an ongoing research agenda, and contribute meaningful service to the department, college, and university.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Italian, Italian Studies, or a closely related field, possess near-native fluency in Italian and English, and demonstrate teaching excellence at all levels of undergraduate instruction.

The University is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the baccalaureate and selective master's degrees of national and/or regional significance in the arts and sciences, business, humanities, education, and health and human services, a specialist degree in educational leadership, and Ph.D. degrees in Marine Science and Education.
