Director of Marketing and External Relations

Primary Purpose of Position:
The Director is responsible for planning, development and implementation of all of the Organization's marketing strategies, marketing communications, and public relations activities, both external and internal. This Director oversees the day-to-day administration of the branding and external relationship program, including managing the publication of the Of Counsel magazine, the Dean's monthly progress report, and the Law School's Annual Report. The Director also manages the efforts of the marketing, communications and external relations staff and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Law School.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Master’s Degree in in a related area and applicable development experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of five years related experience is required.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
•Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experiences in the design and execution of marketing, communications and public relations activities.
•Experience developing and managing budgets, and hiring, training, developing and supervising and evaluating personnel
•Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with media
•Demonstrated successful experience identifying and writing grants
•Experience overseeing the design and production of print materials and publications
•Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout
•Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams
•Strong oral and written communication skills
