Position Description

The University of Chicago invites applications for the position of Assistant Instructional Professor in the Kenneth C. Griffin Department of Economics. This is a two-year, full-time, renewable teaching position beginning in the 2021-2022 academic year. Under the supervision of the Co-Directors of Undergraduate Studies, the candidate will oversee and plan the undergraduate core curriculum, teach five courses, advise and mentor undergraduate and master’s students, organize student activities, and contribute to recruitment and admissions of master’s students.

The terms and conditions of employment for this position are covered by a collective bargaining agreement between the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) and the University.

Qualifications

Applicants must have a Ph.D. in Economics and teaching experience in intermediate level economics courses. Preference will be given to applicants who have demonstrated experience teaching in the areas of microeconomics.
