POSITION: The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire is seeking candidates for the inaugural Jane W. and James E. Moore Nursing Research Professorship in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. This is a full-time position with a concurrent, tenured appointment in the college. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2021. The Moore Professorship was created to recognize and promote the ongoing research development of a nurse scientist at a nationally recognized undergraduate facul  ty/student research intensive comprehensive university. The named scholar is an experienced nurse educator with a demonstrated commitment to scholarship and a documented pattern of research in a designated area. The candidate is at a place in their career trajectory where they wish to expand upon an area or refocus their scholarship to establish a new area of research. The recipient of the Moore Professorship will be granted time and resources to further develop their own research program, while also promoting scholarship of the faculty and students in the department of nursing. This is a tenured faculty position at the associate or full professor rank, holding a nine-month appointment with a summer appointment at 25%. The appointment as the Moore Professor is a limited term appointment of three years. The Moore Professor reports to and works in consultation with the Chair of the Department of Nursing in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. The College of Nursing and Health Sciences offers traditional and BSN-Completion, MSN, and DNP program options. Our 800+ undergraduate and graduate students engage in collaborative learning in and out of the classroom, conduct research with faculty and translate it into practice, and get hands-on experience through clinicals and practica. Additionally, we have a distance education site located in Marshfield, Wisconsin through which we connect via live interactive technology. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A successful candidate will present evidence of the following: PhD in Nursing, Eligibility for RN licensure in WI , Eligibility for rank at the Associate Professor or Professor level, Eligibility for tenure at the time of hire, Evidence of an established program of research and concomitant publications, Evidence of expertise in qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods research modalities, Experience in securing external grant funding, Familiarity with translational and/or evidence-based scholarship, Evidence of working effectively and collaboratively with faculty and students, Evidence of interprofessional scholarship, teaching or service, Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Teaching experience in both undergraduate and graduate programs; evidence of scholarly and/or research dissemination. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Moore Professor provides effective oversight, operational excellence, and coordination for the following functions: Research, Maintain the research program established before being named the Moore Professor or establish a new research program, Engage in grant writing for externally funded research utilizing the expertise in the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, Develop relationships within the college and across the university, including those involving collaborative research with community agencies such as Mayo Clinic Health System and Marshfield Clinic Health System. 

CAMPUS RESEARCH SUPPORTS:
The candidate will have access to support staff within the College of Nursing and Health Sciences for assistance with various scholarly activities, such as formatting grant submissions. The College also has technology support staff to assist the candidate, in the dissemination of scholarship. Funds will also be available to support attendance at conferences to present scholarship. The candidate will also have access to university resources to support scholarship through the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP). ORSP provides funding and administrative support for internal, external and UW system grants and programs, professional development, and sabbatical leave projects. ORSP promotes faculty and academic staff professional development by presenting and mentoring in the areas of grant writing, faculty-student research collaboration, and strategic planning for scholarly success. Finally, ORSP sponsors colloquia and celebrations to highlight faculty and staff research, publications, and grant seeking. In addition to ORSP, the candidate may have opportunities to collaborate with peer faculty in research professorships on campus and or practice partners at local and regional health systems, health departments, or other practice sites.

The College of Nursing and Health Sciences provides undergraduate and graduate programs for Nursing. The College of Nursing & Health Sciences is comprised of the Department of Nursing with two site locations: The University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire campus and the Marshfield Clinic site in Marshfield, Wisconsin. The Department has 32 faculty and clinical instructional staff in addition to two clinical agency coordinators and three full time administrative support staff. 

The Department of Nursing offers four-degree programs: traditional bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Science in Nursing Completion (BSNC), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP). UW-Eau Claire is the only public university in northwestern and north-central Wisconsin that offers a baccalaureate nursing degree. The baccalaureate degree in nursing, the master's degree in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). The baccalaureate degree in nursing, the master's degree in nursing, and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree are also approved by the State Board of Nursing. 

Undergraduate students have the opportunity to collaborate with faculty on faculty-mentored scholarly projects, through an internal program out of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs. This Student-Faculty Research Collaboration program is designed to facilitate undergraduate research, scholarship and creative activities. Awards include funds for student stipends, supplies, services, and research travel. 

The current student body size consists of 440 pre-nursing students, 430 undergraduate students, and 89 graduate students. Upon graduation, the College has a 99% student employment or continuing education rate.
