Under general supervision oversees processes and operations of payroll department. Manages and supervises the direct activities of payroll staff. Pays employees and compiles payroll information by managing payroll preparation.

Essential Duties Summary

• Serves as the point of contact for employees regarding payroll issues and work closely with the Human Resource staff to resolve any time, pay, benefit deduction and compensation change issues. Partner with Human resources to ensure that all employees are properly set up.
• Evaluates new features of Banner HR/Payroll module to evaluate opportunities for process improvement. Coordinates with OIT and performs testing of system upgrades, patches and new releases which impact payroll.
• Ensures compliance with applicable laws and payroll tax obligations. Maintains knowledge of federal and state policies and procedures for payroll processing. Processes TRS and HRIS reports.
• Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests from employees and external customers.
• Reconciles 941 to W-2, research and resolve tax and W-2 inquires. Responsible for the issuance of all W-2’s and 1095-C forms and the submitting of W-2 and 1094-C file.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.



Hiring Range $73,417.00 - $91,771.00 Education

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Work Experience

Five (5) to seven (7) years of equivalent payroll or accounting experience may substitute for degree. Senior level or management experience required.

May require some travel.
