The University of Lynchburg has an immediate opening for the full-time position of  Advancement Specialist in the Advancement Office. This position is responsible for maintaining reports, queries, exports in conjunction with the Director of Advancement Services. This individual is responsible for working with the Director of Advancement Services to ensure that all student, parent, and alumni information is correctly imported into the database in a timely manner.  In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring that best practices in data security are understood and followed by all users of advancement software both within and outside the department as defined by CASE guidelines.

 

The suitable candidate must be able to meet deadlines, balance multiple projects, be detail-oriented, have good grammar and writing skills, and strong analytical skills. Prior database or fundraising software experience is preferred (specific to Raiser’s Edge or Blackbaud).

 

Duties include updating existing donor records, maintaining queries, reports, and data exports; producing quality mailing lists for general and individual solicitation; and importing new student, parent, and alumni information as needed. College degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree required.
