Position Summary:
The Eastern Kentucky University's Department of Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Work is seeking applications for the Director of Field Education, Master of Social Work Program (MSW). This is a 10-month, full-time, tenure-track position with start date negotiable. The MSW program is an online degree program at Eastern Kentucky University that started Fall 2020. The application for Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) candidacy is in process with full accreditation anticipated June 2023.

We seek a candidate who is interested in developing an innovative, student-centered field education program that values interprofessional collaboration associated with addictions intervention, mental health, child and family services, social advocacy and justice, and leadership and management. The MSW Field Director is further expected to demonstrate expertise in the integration of social work practice, theory, and research skills to provide students a model for our concentration in integrative advanced generalist practice.

The MSW Director of Field Education will teach and engage in ongoing social work scholarship and service to the profession and community consistent with University expectations for tenure-track faculty. This includes a 40% teaching responsibility with summer contract work as available. Remote candidates are encouraged to apply with an understanding they will be held to the same service standards and limited outside-employment stipulations as traditional full-time on-campus faculty.

Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree in social work

A minimum of two years post MSW practice experience

Record of teaching or training in a higher education setting

Experience with online instructional and/or assessment technologies

Familiarity with CSWE standards in relation to field education and accreditation

Excellent networking and professional communication skills

Desired Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in social work

5+ years post-MSW practice experience

Social Work licensure (CSW, LSW or LCSW)

Curriculum development experience

Prior experience directing a field education program

Prior teaching experience in a MSW program

Experience with conducting and publishing research
