About the Opportunity:
The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering is the largest Academic Department within the College of Engineering. Reporting to the Business Manager, the Program Coordinator provides the smooth planning and execution of nearly all of the departmental meetings and events throughout the year.

Responsibilities:
Event related responsibilities include, but are not limited to, reserving space, transportation, facilities, audiovisual arrangements, catering orders, set-up and breakdown, preparing materials, advertising of the event, and coordination of virtual meetings via Teams, Zoom, Canvas and other platforms. Responsibilities also include arranging accommodations and itineraries for department visitors such as faculty candidates, seminar speakers, and distinguished guests.

The Program Coordinator will also oversee all aspects of Marketing for the department. Responsibilities include social media and website content, while keeping up with university related policies and procedures and implementing new platforms when applicable The Program Coordinator is responsible for the financial oversight of all event and marketing activities for the department, including, but not limited to, working within an approved budget, forecasting, comparing vendor selections, and completing invoice payments.

For a portion of their time, the Program Coordinator will also act as a Data Administrator for the department. Responsibilities include assisting faculty in updating their profiles within the Academic Analytics interface. In addition, supporting the Department Chair in compiling and analyzing data/information, creating reports and spearheading and implementing new initiatives using these platforms. Utilize and maintain file sharing platforms to maintain department data, such as Microsoft OneDrive and Teams.

The Program Coordinator will also work closely with the other staff members and faculty in the department by assisting with special projects and other administrative support within the department as needed. The ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues is essential.

Qualifications:
The Program Coordinator should be reliable, quickly adaptable, and punctual with the ability to with the ability to multi-task at all times. The candidate will should be proactively demonstrate their abilities to take initiative and ownership of their responsibilities. Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines. The Program Coordinator must be able to work independently, as well as, in a team environment. Ability to forecast, prepare, manage, and work within an assigned budget required. Ability and willingness to continuously evolve and adapt to tasks as is necessary and learn new policies and procedures. Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, Canvas and a bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
