Department Summary
The Lundquist College of Business is one of seven schools housing academic programs on the University of Oregon campus. The College works cooperatively with other UO Colleges and Schools to prepare students for a broad range of career paths. There are approximately 50 full-time faculty members, 48 instructors and pro tem instructors, 40 administrative positions, 30 staff members, 1,200 undergraduate majors, 2,250 pre-business majors, 1,200 undergraduate minors, 170 master's students and 30 doctoral students.

Position Summary
The Department of Marketing is seeking to fill one faculty position at the Instructor level. Employment begins September 16, 2021. Appointment is continuous based on performance and budget, and the position does have potential for summer appointments.

Responsibilities for this position could include a teaching load of eight courses (80%) at the graduate or undergraduate level in or related to the general business or marketing curriculum (i.e. sports marketing, sports marketing and finance, marketing management or sports product management). Service expectations (20%) including activities such as departmental, college, or university committees; responsibilities in recognized professional organizations; service as a club adviser; program development and innovation, including the creation of new programs or enhancements of existing programs for students or prospective students.

Based on qualifications and experience, the combination of teaching and service workload may be adjusted, as appropriate and as approved by the department head and Senior Associate Dean.

Minimum Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing or directly related field

Professional Competencies

  • Strong analytical skills and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds
  • Demonstrated interest, experience and/or ability to promote cultural competency and/or diversity

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate/MBA level teaching experience
  • Experience teaching at both undergraduate and graduate level
  • Experience teaching in large lecture settings
