The Bouve College of Health Sciences seeks a Research Administrative Coordinator to join their team in the Center for Drug Discovery!

Bouve College of Health Sciences is comprised of four preeminent schools of study encompassing approximately 1,000 faculty and staff, 5,000 students, and 40,000 alumni.

Please note: The primary work location for this position is the Boston MA Northeastern University Campus Location. Until our full return to campus, which is still to-be-determined, this interview process will be conducted remotely- including virtual interviews, remote onboarding and remote work. The remote nature of this position is subject to change in the future and is only temporary. Reporting directly to the Assistant Director of Finance and Operations, the Laboratory Coordinator will supervise all operational research laboratory functions for the Center for Drug Discovery in the Bouve College of Health Sciences, including procurement actions, laboratory equipment maintenance from follow-up to completion and all service troubleshooting, whether internally or externally sourced. Responsible for coordinating all new faculty laboratory relocations (laboratory equipment specialty moving and receiving, refrigerated/frozen materials or samples move requirements, new NU laboratory location chemical, gas, venting or environmental considerations, etc.). Acting as NU/CDD liaison between new faculty members and all departments of NU, such as Facilities, Maintenance, Procurement, , Accounts Payable, International Student and Scholar office and the Office of General Counsel related to the relocation of labs to/from Northeastern. Works with lab leaders to ensure timely and consistent maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring the equipment remains functional to multiple users. In collaboration with the NU Procurement Department, oversees the procurement of all material supplies and services issues related to multiple lab location sites. The position interacts appropriately with all vendors and seeks to identify new cost-effective resources. This position will manage the entire process from order development, vendor point of contact, through order processing, receiving, invoicing and payment, including troubleshooting any problems that may arise at any point in the process. Responsible for ProCard transactions, documentation, and reconciliations, in consultation with the Assistant Director, Finance & Operations. Spearheads all vendor price quotes and payment negotiations to the maximum benefit of NU and specifically to the CDD. candidates. Accountable for students and research staff training compliance on lab equipment and environmental health and safety regulations and requirements.

Bachelor's degree required, master's degree preferred. A minimum of 2-5 years' experience in a professional research laboratory. Candidate must demonstrate a strong customer focus, project management and problem-solving skills; the ability to work well with diverse groups of people with immediate and changing needs; the ability to oversee multiple tasks with attention to detail; a motivated/enthusiastic work style; and the ability to work in a fast paced environment with a broad range of internal and external constituents. Successful candidate will have strong written and oral communication skills. Demonstrated expertise with Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel and Word), and online resources are required. Experience and collaboration with Procurement units in vendor negotiations; developing cost-cutting measures; organizing competitive bidding processes; organizing, supervising and participating in movement of laboratory equipment from external facilities to academic settings, managing projects related to federal and external funds costing requirements, especially related to research preferred.
