Northern State University seeks a full-time Assistant Professor of Biology to begin August 2021.

 

Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Biology or a closely related field is preferred; however, ABD candidates with a completion date no later than July 2021 will also be considered. Experience and interest in the health sciences is also preferred. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to undergraduate education and demonstrate the ability to teach a variety of courses.  Furthermore, strong oral and written communication skills are required.

 

Responsibilities: The successful applicant will be expected to teach Physiology, an introductory Biology course for non-majors, and other courses depending on the candidate’s area of expertise and departmental needs.  Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching other health related courses such as Genetics and/or Developmental Biology.  The applicant will be expected to bring a research program that can be easily adapted to undergraduate students, and be willing to participate in service activities as requested.
