Job Description:

Curry College is seeking an Assistant Professor beginning Fall 2021. Primary teaching responsibilities include, but will not be limited to, assigned teaching at the College's Plymouth campus. The faculty must be able to a teach a variety of didactic and simulation lab courses primarily to the accelerated second-degree students with options to teach courses in the RN to BS and MSN programs. The Assistant Professor will hold primary responsibility for simulation on the Plymouth campus and works closely with the Simulation Advisory Committee to ensure program adherence to the INACSL Standards of Best Practice: Simulation.

The Assistant Professor's responsibilities will include teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and online didactic courses as needed and  implementing simulation activities for a wide variety of clinical courses, debriefing, and evaluating simulation-based student-learning. Additionally, the Assistant Professor, is expected to adhere to College expectations for teaching, service, and scholarship consistent with the rank of Assistant Professor. 

Candidates must have current knowledge and experience of standards and practices involving simulation pedagogy and teaching online; Knowledge and ability to lead organizational change; Experience in leading projects; Current knowledge of clinical nursing care; Strong oral and written communication skills; Ability to work with diverse learners; Ability to work with new technology and software; Strong organizational skills; and the ability to move mannequins and other related equipment.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An earned Doctorate in Nursing or a Doctorate in a related field with an MS in Nursing (ABD considered with completion date before August 2021).
  • A minimum of one (1) year of simulation experience is required; Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) is preferred.
  • Teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • An unrestricted Massachusetts RN license or eligibility for Massachusetts RN licensure.
  • Current CPR Certification.
  • Ability to move manikins and other equipment.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
