Job Description:

The Department of Natural Sciences & Mathematics at Curry College invites applications for a full-time one-year Special Appointment Forensic Science professor at the Assistant level to begin in late August 2021.  Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level and the ability to establish and maintain an active research agenda that involve undergraduates.  Evidence of effective teaching to diverse learners and experience in promoting and fostering a supportive learning environment using a variety of methodologies are a plus.

Responsibilities include teaching introductory and advanced level forensic science courses: Forensic Science I & II, Forensic Photography, and Forensic Criminal Investigation. The successful candidate will also play an important role in developing forensic science elective courses to enhance the Forensic Science curriculum or strengthen the General Education Program.  Experience with teaching Introductory Biology course including Introduction to Organisms and/or Anatomy and Physiology and program development including learning outcomes and assessment are required.

Requirements:

Minimum Requirements

  • Candidates must have a Master's Degree in the Natural Sciences and must have a strong commitment to undergraduate education;
  • Experience focusing on forensic science applications is required;  
  • Experience with teaching Introductory Biology course including Introduction to Organisms and/or Anatomy and Physiology and program development including learning outcomes and assessment are required.

Preferred Requirements

  • A Ph.D. in the the Natural Sciences.

At the College's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be excepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the College, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
