The Department of Justice Sciences at the University of Findlay is seeking an experienced criminal justice expert for a full-time Assistant Professor position.  The program invites applicants for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor within the Department of Justice Sciences (Criminal Justice & Forensic Science), housed in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. The ideal candidate for this position would be well qualified to teach courses and assist with course and program development and instruction in the fields of criminal justice, homeland security, crime mapping, and crime data analysis.  

The candidate must possess a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice, Criminology, Security Studies (or a closely related field). With expertise, credentials, and qualifications to support academic programming, research, and service in Homeland Security, Crime Mapping, and Crime Data Analysis.  ABDs will be considered; however, Ph.D. must be obtained by the date of appointment.  A J.D. is not a suitable degree for this position.

Potential to develop a research agenda in criminal justice, homeland security, crime mapping, or crime data analysis disciplines as evidenced by submission of peer-reviewed publications, professional presentations, and/or grant proposals. Potential for undergraduate graduate instruction in the disciplines of criminal justice, security, and crime data analysis in both seated and online modalities with the potential to teach in both formats. Strong written and oral communications skills. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collegially with students, staff, and faculty from diverse backgrounds, programs, and colleges.

The department is committed to student-centered education, professional development, and scholarship, emphasizing teaching and serving as a mentor for undergraduate research efforts. Rank as assistant professor and salary are commensurate with qualifications.
