The University of Findlay invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor in pre-law and history in the College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences. This is a full time, tenure-track position. The Department of History, Law, and Gender Studies offers Bachelors of Arts degrees in History and Law and the Liberal Arts, with minor and certificate programs in museum studies and gender studies. 

The successful candidate will have university teaching experience and possess both a J.D. and a Ph.D. in history at the start of employment.  S/he will advise and mentor pre-law students, participate in field trips, law society activities, and experiential learning opportunities, and aid students in LSAT preparation.  Primary teaching responsibilities will be pre-law courses, such as introduction to law, comparative law, business law, or legal writing and research.  The successful candidate also will be able to offer history or public administration courses.  Preferred areas of history teaching and research specialization include African-American, Native American, Asia, the Middle East, and/or public history. 

The University of Findlay is proud to offer an accelerated 3+3 Law Program.  The 3+3 Law Program is designed for motivated pre-law majors to attend their first three years at Findlay with the option to complete their fourth year at one of our partner legal institutions.  Participating students will have their bachelor's degree awarded upon successful completion of their first year of law school.
