Data Analyst

Under the direction of the Senior Vice President for Research, the Data Analyst (Professional Services Specialist II) is responsible for data analytics and the gathering, assessment, cleaning and aggregating of data from a wide range of client groups across the university including, but not limited to: Academic Affairs, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Institutional Research, Enrollment Management, Student Success and Retention, etc. Additionally, this role will develop and maintain metrics & reports, design data models, perform UPC and ACE analyses and assist in decision making at all levels and in all areas of the university, including presenting to senior leadership. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

This is not a remote position and requires physical presence on campus as determined by the Supervisor. It requires working on campus during the COVID-19 pandemic and interacting directly with students following all procedures and protocols set forth in the University’s Restart Plan and any procedures/protocols created through additional correspondence. The employee must have the ability to wear a face covering for the duration of the workday during the COVID pandemic or as determined by university protocol.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Master’s degree in a related field and three years of professional experience analyzing data in an institution of higher education, in education or a field that is directly related to data collection, analyses and reporting is required. Candidate must have experience with instituting Quality Controls on large data sets; prior experience collecting, analyzing and presenting data from platforms such as Workday, Advise CRM, Ellucian/Colleague and Interfolio; advanced knowledge and experience working with various databases including, but not limited to: Excel, Access, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle12; and knowledge of SQL, ACE analyses and UPC analyses. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. A Doctorate degree may be substituted for two years of the required experience.
