The Department of Biology at Emory & Henry College invites applications for the position of Visiting

Assistant Professor of Biology. The posting is a full-time, one-year position, with a start date of August 1, 2021, with potential to transition to tenure track. The Department is part of an historic liberal arts college in Emory, Virginia, USA, on a rural campus in the picturesque Appalachian Mountains. Committed to excellence in teaching and mentored undergraduate research, the Department of Biology is one of the college’s most vibrant and successful programs. 

 

Requirements:

  • Assist the biology faculty team in teaching undergraduate departmental courses in support of both the Biology and Exercise Science programs.
  • Interest and demonstrated ability to teach departmental courses such as General Biology (majors and non-majors), Integrated Human Anatomy & Physiology.

 

Qualifications:

  • D. in Biology or discipline-related field expected by contract start date, evidence of teaching excellence.
  • Candidates must have a background in either anatomy, developmental biology, and/or systems physiology; or demonstrated experience teaching these subjects at the college/university level. 
  • The successful candidate should be able to teach Integrated Human Anatomy & Physiology for health science majors, general biology (majors/non-majors).
