Sierra College is a Community College located near Sacramento,
California where a heavy emphasis is placed on academic excellence
and student success. Since its founding in 1936, Sierra College has
focused on quality instruction and meeting the evolving needs of
the students and communities that it serves. The Sierra Community
College District covers more than 3,200 square miles and serves the
Northern California foothill counties of Placer and Nevada, as well
as parts of El Dorado and Sacramento. We serve over 18,000 students
throughout the region in both on-ground and online courses,
including students at our main Rocklin Campus as well as at three
centers located in Grass Valley, Tahoe/Truckee, and Roseville. Our

The IT Instructor must demonstrate a profound understanding of
and experience with successfully supporting individuals with

Under the administrative direction of an educational administrator,
the IT Instructor develops culturally-responsive curriculum
and provides lecture and laboratory instruction for students in the
study of Computer Information Systems (CIS) and other related
courses; evaluates students’ performance; coordinates with faculty
and other staff regarding computer software for use in conjunction
with lecture and laboratory assignments; participates in
articulation and Career Technical Education program, shared
governance, and other activities in support of the instructional
program; and performs other related work, as required.
- This position will be responsible for teaching our cybersecurity courses; and therefore, must have knowledge of, and industry experience in, advanced cybersecurity tools, techniques and technology.
- The courses taught by this instructor will include: Introduction to Info. Systems Security (Security+), Ethical Hacking (PenTest+, CEH), Network Security and Firewalls.
- This instructor will have primary responsibility for the maintenance of existing, and development of new curriculum and lab content in the area of cybersecurity.
- This instructor will have primary responsibility for the maintenance of our CAE-2Y certification.
- It is important for this position to demonstrate leadership in the program.
