Location: Southern Adventist University, Collegedale, TN

Job Summary: The School of Journalism and Communication is seeking an experienced, qualified individual to bring his or her creativity, energy, and recent industry experience to the SJC.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have expertise in social media, public relations, with intercultural experience a plus. The candidate should be able to teach a variety of courses including public speaking, public relations, intercultural and communication studies. In addition, the successful candidate will be proficient in research or have industry specific accomplishments to support his or her qualifications. The SJC is especially interested in receiving applications from individuals who are capable of inspiring students, have a strong commitment to Christ, and will be a strong team player, advisor, and mentor.

Duties:

  • Teach undergraduate courses
  • Advise students
  • Develop growth nurturing initiatives
  • Participate in department and university committees
  • Help oversee student projects, clubs, tours and more.
  • Help nurture a culture of scholarly and professional engagement

Special Requirements: Must have a strongly expressed commitment to Jesus Christ, the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church; must be a SDA church member in good and regular standing.

Education: Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communication, or related field required (PhD preferred).

Experience: Minimum 3+ years professional or teaching experience.
