Job Description

Baruch College is located in Manhattan's historic Gramercy/Flatiron district between Midtown and Wall Street and offers significant professional opportunities to interact with operations and supply chain professionals in the retail, financial services, transportation, healthcare, and government sectors. The Zicklin School of Business is New York City's premier public business school with an international reputation for excellence in offering nationally-ranked business degrees including BBA and MBA programs, specialized MS degrees in Business Analytics, executive programs, and the Zicklin PhD in Business, offered jointly with the CUNY Graduate Center (including the newest PhD concentration, Operations and Decision Analytics). The Operations Management faculty routinely publish in top journals and host internationally-known OM scholars in the Omega research seminar series. 

The Narendra Paul Loomba Department of Management at the Zicklin School of Business invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Operations Management starting August 2021, subject to final budget approval. 

The successful candidate is expected to pursue and promote a rigorous research agenda in operations and/or business analytics, and contribute to the new doctoral concentration in Operations and Decision Analytics (ODA). Contribution to the doctoral concentration in ODA includes doctoral student mentorship and advisement as well as teaching course(s) or leading seminar(s) at the doctoral level in the candidate’s area of expertise. 

Compensation and teaching loads will be competitive and commensurate with rank.

Qualifications: 

Applicants should have a PhD (or ABD) in Operations Management, Operations Research, Management Science, Business Analytics, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. 

Preference will be given to candidates with a proven research record and teaching experience at undergraduate and/or graduate levels. Desirable are research and teaching interests in all areas related to Operations Management and Business Analytics. Both analytical and empirical research orientations will be considered. 

Candidates should also be prepared to teach core and/or elective courses in operations management and/or business analytics to MBA and BBA students with full course ownership.
