Biostatistician

Pediatric Critical Care, Department of Pediatrics

This is an incredible opportunity to join a productive and collegial academic environment and work with an outstanding group of researchers.  The Division of Pediatric Critical Care at the University of Utah School of Medicine is recruiting Biostatisticians. The Biostatisticians will join a nationally recognized research team and data coordinating center in the Division of Critical Care in the Department of Pediatrics, University of Utah School of Medicine. The Biostatisticians will collaborate with internal and external investigators in the design and implementation of clinical studies, as well as interpretation of results, manuscript and presentation preparation, and dissemination of findings.  In addition to serving in leadership roles on several multicenter research networks and studies, the Biostatisticians may be asked to assist with study design and data interpretation for investigators within the Department of Pediatrics as needed and as available (although the primary focus of these positions will be on the research networks).  The Biostatisticians will be expected to attend regular meetings related to project-specific and Center activities.  In addition to analytic services, there is an expectation for academic productivity, including education, investigation/scholarly activity, and administration/service. 

Qualified candidates must have a Ph.D. in Biostatistics or Statistics and experience as a biostatistician in clinical trials, cohort studies and/or research networks.  Excellent communication skills with both statistical and non-statistical audiences is vital. The selected candidate will receive a faculty appointment in the Department of Pediatrics on the Research or Tenure Track at the academic level commensurate with experience and qualifications.
