The Department of Psychological Science seeks applicants for a tenure track, faculty position beginning August 1, 2021.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The Department of Psychological Science is housed in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. The department offers a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Sciences degree in psychology. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teaching four courses per semester in the undergraduate Psychology program. We are seeking an experimental psychologist who can teach statistics and experimental psychology, as well as, courses related to the neuroscience specialty area (e.g., physiological, neuroscience, human memory, brain and behavior, drugs and behavior, etc.); maintain scholarly productivity; and participate in service at the department, college and university levels.    

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctorate in Psychology with a specialty in Experimental Psychology and/or Neuro Science/Psychology from a regionally accredited university by appointment date;
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship;
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A record of effective teaching appropriate to the applicant’s career stage;
  • Ability to conduct and publish research with students;
  • Evidence of active service;
  • Experience teaching face-to-face as well as online courses;
  • Experience with assessment-related activities and implementation of APA guidelines;
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative setting;
  • A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.
