The Department of Marketing in the Belk College of Business at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte invites applications for a faculty position at the rank of Clinical Assistant Professor or Lecturer beginning in the Fall 2021 semester. We are seeking a dynamic and collegial academic who is committed to supporting the College’s mission as a major urban research business school. The candidate must meet the faculty qualifications in the policy entitled “Belk College Policy on Qualified Faculty Status.”
The Clinical Assistant rank requires a doctoral degree in business with a focus on marketing or a closely related field. The degree requirement must be completed by the time of appointment. The candidate must be prepared to educate a diverse population of students in various marketing courses, such as principles of marketing, brand management, consumer behavior, marketing research, and global marketing, as needed, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Prior teaching experience, especially in large classroom settings, is preferred. The clinical rank requires research in marketing or closely related areas that can help the College maintain its AACSB certification. In addition to teaching and research, responsibilities for this position may include student advising, committee service, and other service assignments as determined by the department and the College.
The Lecturer rank requires a master’s degree in business with a focus on marketing or a closely related field with at least 18 hours of graduate coursework in marketing and/or business. The degree requirement must be completed by the time of appointment. The candidate must be prepared to educate a diverse population of students in various marketing courses, such as principles of marketing, brand management, consumer behavior, marketing research, and global marketing, as needed, at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Prior teaching experience, especially in large classroom settings, is preferred. In addition to teaching, responsibilities for this position may include student advising, committee service, and other service assignments as determined by the department and the College.
The initial appointment is for the 2021-2022 academic year. Salary is competitive. Reappointment will depend on performance, departmental needs, and the College’s budgetary situation.
