Job Description:

The Systems Analyst is a key member of the customer service‐oriented Core Systems group, and provides daily assistance supporting a quality, high availability environment for the University community. ITS’ philosophy is ‘best of breed’ regarding software systems and a preference is given to cloud-based solutions dependent upon security, functionality, usability, and integration capabilities. Aiding with the design, implementation and ongoing support of systems and solutions is a primary role of this position.

This position serves as a key resource, providing continued support and maintenance of solutions throughout the entire system life-cycle. Support of ITS staff and the user community is critical to the success of all solutions, the System Analyst has a responsibility for providing top tier support for support systems. The System Analyst will work with peers in Core Systems and other groups in ITS regularly to implement and maintain the highest levels of functionality.

Essential and Related Functions:

The scope of this position is fluid depending on University/ITS needs; current essential and related functions include:

⦁Writes, maintains and troubleshoots PowerShell scripts, REST API, JSON.

⦁Manages JAMS and GIT repository for Core Systems and Enterprise Systems and Integration Services (EISIS).

⦁Configures and manages SAML authentication with Okta and Office 365.

⦁Supports Multi Factor Authentication solutions such as Duo Security.

⦁Maintains Amazon Web Services technologies and integrations – Multi-account management, Control Tower, S3, Storage Gateway, EC2, etc.

⦁Aids with Installation, and maintenance of Microsoft Window OS in both a virtual and physical environment.

⦁Serves as a liaison between Core Systems and Client Services groups within ITS to provide a direct communication path between each group. Participate in a weekly Client Services meeting.

⦁Supports Active Directory domain management and related technologies – DNS, DHCP, Group Policy.

⦁Provides basic support of IIS functions.

⦁Manages InCommon certificate issuance for securing website and other network/internet communications.

⦁Manages and maintains Veeam Backup and Recovery and Veeam One Monitoring for vmware.

⦁Aids in support of Vmware virtual infrastructing.

⦁Provides support and maintenance of Office 365 and Azure applications.

⦁Provides support and troubleshooting for ITS and other University departments.

⦁Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

The ITS Systems Analyst should enjoy working as part of a team, and be self-motivated; with a strong orientation toward customer service. Organizational skills and initiative are paramount to the employee’s success. Regular communication with users and peers is required as is the ability to provide follow up while managing issues and projects through to completion. The employee must continue to provide support for solution and integrations as needed after a project closes. The Systems Analyst should be able to prioritize multiple demands and remain flexible to changing situations. The System Analyst must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and analytical skills, and the ability to describe, document, and educate both functional and technical audiences. The System Analyst should possess intense curiosity in new technologies, with a goal of high-quality support and maintenance of existing technologies.

Education/Experience/Skills:

Required:

⦁Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

⦁Three to five years of relevant experience, including demonstrated expertise in system support and maintenance, implementation of new systems, analysis of existing solutions to identify potential improvements.

⦁Proven experience operating within cloud-based, on-premise, and hybrid technical environments.

⦁Proven ability to work and thrive both in a team environment and independently.

Preferred:

⦁Higher education experience

⦁Expertise in managing multiple, integrated and stand-alone systems to ensure consistent availablility and functionality.

Physical Requirements:

  • Fingering: Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.

  • Repetitive motions: Making substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Types of Work:

Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work schedule is Monday - Friday, 8:30 - 4:30 Eastern time, occasional maintenance time outside normal business hours should be expected/ anticipated. Remote work is a possibility for this role.
