To help support the work of the University, we have an immediate opening for a Manager, Administrative Computing in the Information Technology Services Department.

Position Reports To: CIO

Position Summary: The Manager, Administrative Computing, provides hardware, software and services that facilitate the administrative processes of the University. The Manager, Administrative Computing is responsible for supporting the administrative users of the University in their use of computer administrative systems, including but not limited to, CampusVue, Ad Astra, Forms Builder, Student and Faculty Portals, SchoolDocs, DocuSign, Workflows, Ceridian DayForce, MS Dynamics financial system, and RS2 Card Access System.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Expertise in Microsoft SQL
  • Expertise in process engineering
  • Expertise in process improvement
  • Expertise in project management
  • Knowledge of Chatham-specific hardware, software and protocols
  • Experience rolling out new systems into production as well as upgrading production systems while maintaining availability in a enterprise environment
  • Ability to prepare and execute a budget
  • Ability to work effectively with a variety of end users
  • Ability to effectively convey information in-person and in writing
  • Ability to supervise professionals and student workers
  • Ability to work with vendors to obtain merchandise and services

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains the database administrative systems by scheduling new system releases, upgrades and patches.
  • Works with and manages relationship, projects, system upgrades, communications, network and system access of contracted vendors.
  • Manages and support cloud installation of utilized applications.
  • Works with the Systems Administration Team to establish computer accounts and to provide proper access controls for administrative data.
  • Work with the Development and Web Teams to build Workflows and Forms Builder reports.
  • Provides daily support for modules of the administrative systems.
  • Consults with departmental data owners regularly to ensure data consistency and integrity.
  • Write and apply database scripts to fulfill user requests.
  • Ensure that reports are accurate and produced in a timely manner.
  • Perform design and development in response to requests for information.
  • Provides education, training, and awareness on the core and portal functions and capabilities of the administrative system.
  • Prepares written and electronic documentation in support of training end-users.
  • Communicates regularly with internal technical, applications and operational staff, to ensure the database integrity, security, and availability.
  • Prepares project plans and schedules for significant system-related implementation support and efforts.
  • Monitor assigned organization operational and development projects to ensure consistency and satisfaction of database infrastructure.
  • Coordinate testing activities within and outside the department.
  • Maintain development, test and production regions of programs.
  • Assists in monitoring the direction and growth of the organization to ensure the application of appropriate database technologies and support resources.
  • Designs, develops, and implements reporting tools for end-users at all levels (operation, tactical., and strategic based on requirements for information.
  • Identifies and resolves data related issues.
  • Designs, develops, and implements data processing applications in response to requirements for information.
  • Designs, develops, and implements database integration processes between the administrative system and external databases.
  • Stays abreast of products and trends in administrative computing in higher education.
  • Performs other duties as required in support of the mission of the Information Technology Services Department and Chatham University.
