Executive Director, IT Product Management

The mission of The University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences is the development of professional health care practitioners through innovation, individualized, and quality classroom, clinical, and distance education.

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Executive Director, IT Product Management is responsible for supporting the Chief Information Officer in developing strategic technical product roadmaps and implementing key projects and initiatives for the University.

The incumbent is responsible for developing and executing a wide range of strategic and technical projects including new initiatives and program opportunities, as well as evaluating new products, resources and technologies. This position also provides product management framework and ensures consistent implementation of product management through the agile development lifecycle, to drive continuous product improvements in conjunction with customers and internal stakeholders. This individual’s efforts will align with the strategic needs of the University, driving future growth and supporting the institution’s long-range objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead the development of product evaluations, optimizations, and strategic product roadmap of technical projects, by p erforming current and future state analyses, business process reengineering, business process mapping and modeling, and business risk assessments
  • Review and develop the technical model, working closely with executive leadership to create an implementation plan for approved new products and technologies including product launch planning
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders to gain executive approval for new product launches, systematic expansion, and technology partnerships.
  • Oversee the development and execution of a full business plan by communicating changes or priority shifts to cross-functional teams, escalating any issues that could impact the budget, timeline, or strategic vision.
  • Collaborate with key operational stakeholders including academics, innovation/virtual education, finance, legal, regulatory, and marketing during implementation
  • Coach and develop direct reports; set annual performance objectives aligned with University goals, develop professional development plans and conduct annual performance reviews.
  • Review resource requirements annually and make recommendations to leadership for support
  • Develop and manage annual budgets for product management and continuing professional education cost centers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Master of Science in Information Technology or related field preferred
  • 7-10 years of related experience involving technical product management, program management or IT solution consulting
  • Certified Scrum Professional-Product Owner (CSP-PO) certification
  • Proven analytical and quantitative skills); ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions and develop project business cases.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute methodically, with a positive outlook and willingness to take personal initiatives
  • Experience working with CRM, Jira, Salesforce, MS Teams and Trello
  • High attention to detail including precise and effective customer communications and proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Experience in all phases of the development lifecycle to include supporting testing, including functional, regression, user acceptance, integration, and performance to verify the client’s needs are met
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment.
  • Must have advanced interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to develop and deliver presentations to senior management and top-level executives
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to travel.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involve exposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computer equipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associated with a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, and other physical functions as necessary.
