The Program Coordinator will work in partnership with the AgrAbility Project and North Carolina Agromedicine Institute faculty to develop and lead collaborative and synergistic research, Extension and academic efforts to identify and address the health and safety risks of farmers, their families and communities. The coordinator will provide leadership for the NC AgrAbility Project including oversight of the federal grant award and supervision of project staff and graduate students. This position is responsible for the development of a strong extramurally-funded research and Extension agenda, centered around a high priority, high impact theme or in a closely related emerging area of interest and need in the field of agricultural occupational and environmental health and safety. The coordinator is responsible for the maintenance and expansion of efforts to fulfill the goals of the NC Agromedicine Institute and AgrAbility project. This position will contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of a comprehensive research based educational programming agenda that meets the needs of limited-resource and socially-disadvantaged, small farmers consistent with the vision, mission, and goals of the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
