The Department of Agricultural Sciences at Texas State University invites applications for a 9 month, tenure track position at the assistant professor level with the expectation of teaching one summer term. The position is primarily a teaching and research appointment in agricultural economics/business with other duties as assigned.

All positions are subject to availability of funds.

 

Required Qualifications       

The applicant must have:

i) An earned Ph.D. in agricultural economics, natural resource economics, applied economics, aquaculture economics, or closely related discipline;

ii) Relevant expertise in agricultural marketing/price analysis, international agricultural trade, and international agricultural development;

iii) Experience working with interdisciplinary subject matter and teams in agriculture;

iv) Documented evidence of willingness to contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching programs;

v) Documental evidence of the potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program that complements existing programs in the Department of Agricultural Sciences at Texas State, such as economics of food production and consumption, agricultural and trade policies, small producers initiative, and integrated and sustainable agriculture.

 

Preferred Qualifications

i) Research publications in the peer-reviewed journal(s);

ii) Experience in writing grant proposals; and

iii) Previous teaching and/or research experience.
