This position is responsible for processing subawards/subcontracts to external entities on behalf of the prime recipient (FSU) for funds received from public sources. This position will advise and assist faculty and staff in all areas of the subcontracting process including, but not limited to: negotiating and issuing subawards and subcontracts as approved by the sponsoring agencies; coordinating compliance issues related to the subcontracting process; analyzing internal and external regulations, rules and policies with subsequent recommendations to senior staff regarding methodology to achieve compliance; preparing official communications related to this process; and preparing training materials both to internal staff and the FSU community. This position will also conduct training sessions/workshops and will assist the senior staff with special projects as assigned.

Preparation of subaward/subcontracts to external entities including gathering all relevant information from the principal investigator and the subrecipient. Review subrecipient determination and terms and conditions of prime award to ensure subaward language is appropriate. Develop, review, negotiate, and issue subawards/amendments. 

Coordination of compliance issues and analysis of internal and external regulations, rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines with subsequent recommendations to senior staff to achieve compliance. Access and report to the appropriate compliance systems, such as SAM, FDP Audit Clearinghouse, Financial Management System, and FFATA-FSRS. Input subrecipient data into OMNI/RAMP and maintain subaward project files.

Prepare training materials and conduct training sessions/workshops to internal staff and the FSU community; prepare official communications; prepare materials for publications; and assist the senior staff with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and two years of experience related to the duties of this position; or a high school diploma/equivalency and six years of experience related to the duties of this position.

(Note: or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to six years.)

Experience with attention to detail, meeting project deadlines and working independently.

Ability to communicate effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing

Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook or equivalent software.

Ability to comprehend and interpret state, federal, and sponsoring agencies rules, regulations, policies, and laws regarding sponsored research.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and to interact with people at all levels
diplomatically, tactfully, and professionally.

This position requires successful completion of the eSPEAR Certification series within the first six months from start date.

This is an A&P (Administrative and Professional) position.

Soft Money Funded Position

This is a soft money funded position, with renewal based on available funds and the needs of the University.
