Part-Time Manager of Peer Support

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Part-Time Manager of Peer Support position.  The PT Manager of Peer Support is responsible for supporting student learning by coordinating peer tutoring, embedded tutoring and the Supplemental Instruction program, including recruiting to build a team of peer tutors, organizing peer led support initiatives, marketing and assessing initiatives, and leading ongoing training and development opportunities for the peers. This position has college-wide responsibilities that require travel between all campuses and to off-site locations.

 

*Following Governor Wolf's announcement on March 30, the selected candidate will work remotely until further notice.  As the College re-opens the campuses, the selected candidate will transition to on-campus work. 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree required; Master’s degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working in learning centers, academic support, or tutorial services in a college or university environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of current and best practices in learning centers and academic support.
  • Strong working knowledge of online tutoring platforms, learning management systems, and online teaching and learning tools.
  • Willingness to exercise proper authority and good independent judgment.
  • Ability to coach and develop others, and deliver consistent and productive feedback.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, and demonstrated success communicating with faculty.
  • Strong technical and analytical skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Understanding of and strong commitment to a comprehensive community college philosophy.
