Mercyhurst University is seeking candidates for an assistant professor position within the Department of Physics beginning August 2021. This is a nine-month position with the potential for renewal, contingent upon performance review. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include introductory physics lecture and lab courses and some upper-division physics major courses. The candidate is expected to develop an active undergraduate research program in their area of interest using shared departmental research space.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

This position requires a Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field. The ideal candidates will have relevant post-doctoral experience, undergraduate level teaching experience, experience mentoring research students at a primarily undergraduate institution, and the ability to synergize with colleagues across scientific disciplines.
