Professor of Psychology

The School of Arts and Sciences at Florida Southern College invites applications for the Chair of an exciting and newly formed Department of Social & Behavioral Sciences.

This is a tenure-track appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor. The position begins in August 2021. Primary responsibilities include chairing a ten-member department that offers undergraduate degree programs in Psychology, Criminology, and a graduate degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology. Teaching responsibilities include a 2/2 teaching load in areas of need or interest, mentorship, and academic advising for undergraduate students.

The successful candidate will hold a Ph.D. in Psychology and possess a passion for teaching, collegiality, and concern for students, all of which the candidate’s application should demonstrate. Departmental leadership experience and proven ability to promote active, engaged, and vibrant academic programming are also essential qualifications. The successful candidate will maintain an appropriate scholarly agenda and serve on college committees.
