Minimum Qualifications

A Bachelor’s degree is required as well as at least two years of general administrative experience involving public contact in a higher education setting. Prefer baccalaureate degree program to be in a related field such as accounting, business, education, psychology, or public administration. Excellent customer service skills, as well as strong oral and written communication skills, are a must.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Assistant Director, Financial Aid Counseling Team is responsible for managing, directing, and supervising financial aid counseling services to prospective and enrolled students and parents, as well as community members, on all aspects of federal, state, institutional, and private financial aid. The incumbent establishes and manages work schedules for employees serving as Assistant Director/Financial Aid Counselor; such oversight also includes selecting and supervising staff under purview, as well as establishing and managing employee performance standards and evaluations, training, and development needs. As required, the position supports the counseling staff and will require them to perform counselor responsibilities, including but not limited to back-up, managing student caseloads, and/or serve as the primary officer for designated populations or financial aid programs. The incumbent is also responsible for partnering with the Associate Director on scheduling coverage for outreach. In addition, the position includes identifying communication needs and collaborating in the creation of email, website, social media, and digital marketing content.

Suggested Salary Range $47,500 to $52,000 Physical Demands of Position

Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
