The School of Arts and Sciences at Manhattanville College invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the assistant professor (tenure track) level.  We seek a scholar who is interested in working amongst an active, culturally, and academically diverse faculty and who brings a critical perspective to the study of Criminal Justice and Law.  Candidates should have a PhD or equivalent in Criminal Justice, Political Science, Philosophy, Sociology, or a related field.  The successful candidate would work within the Division of Historical, Philosophical, and Political Sciences and would offer courses in such areas as corrections and prison reform; policing; race, crime, and social justice; criminology; law and juvenile justice; crime and gender; and ethical issues in law enforcement. The ideal candidate will broaden the School's existing strengths in the multidisciplinary study of crime, law, and punishment and will be expected to collaborate with faculty in the division in revising and improving the existing program.  Priority will be given to publicly engaged scholars who are focused on the intersections between the criminal legal system and other institutions and have research interest in either social harms resulting from all forms of injustice or challenging historical and contemporary policy and practice.
